Adventures in Ireland: Day 2

Adventures in Ireland: Day 2

Today, in a rare occurrence, the weather in Ireland was spectacular!  Partly sunny and 50 degrees gave us the perfect backdrop for a day of sightseeing and festivities.

We began the day with breakfast at the hotel and then all clambored onto the buses for the ride to the Cliffs of Moher.  The kids had a great time exploring the pathways along the cliffs and checking out the spectacular scenery as well as the gift shops built into the underside of the hills.

Leaving the Cliffs of Moher, the buses took the scenic route on VERY narrow and VERY winding roads through the picturesque Burren...

and on into Gallway City for a couple of hours of sightseeing, shopping and snacking!

After a brief stop back at the hotel, we all boarded the buses again for an evening of Renaissance music, dining and entertainment at Bunratty Castle where Mr. and Mrs. Russell were crowned Lord and Lady of the Castle for the evening, Mr. Hickey was thrown into the dungeon and led  the band in a rousing rendition of the Hey song to get out, and we dined in Renaissance style with only daggers (knives) and fingers for utensils.  It was a fun evening for all!

When we are back in the land of speedy internet...many more pictures will follow!
